One of the central 'characters' in the novel are pink marshmallows. Yes pink marshmallows so, despite looking like an idiot, I got Michelle to photograph with Cafe C's jar of them!
I am a bit after the fact on this one but I had my first meeting with my book cover designer last Saturday at the lovely Cafe C in Newtown. Her name is Michelle (her company is Giganova) and she is just delightful – I met her via the Kindle course at the Sydney Writers Centre – and great at what she does. She also loved the book’s storyline and I am so glad I got the novel’s synopsis done in time!
The conversation was great, the omelette superb but what really had me excited was the creative rapport between us as she came up with a great idea for the cover, I enlarged on it, she took it further, and so on. So much fun, and so encouraging to know that yet another piece of the puzzle is falling into place. She also had a suggestion for an illustrator to create my characters and I love his stuff.
Exciting times and I can’t wait to see the finished product!
